Descalza.

Running around barefoot and feeling home with the smell of jasmine laundry detergent at the field station is the best.

Updates: we are all sifting through 15+ years of student projects done by CIEE and EAP to figure out what our independent projects will be for the next month. We have four days to finish writing a mid-length proposal, collect our supplies, and head off to homestay; most of which will be spent running around the forest.

I want to study these.
Surprising, right?

There aren't many studies done on this guy--the bare-shanked screech owl.

I think I'm going to run around at night with Johel for a few weeks and search these guys out. Nobody has studied them during breeding season, and there have been two projects in the past using playback calls in the fall that found 3-7 individuals in the Monteverde area. There are only two reports of nest sightings.

...Owl hunting.

I should finish up this Spanish homework and be on my way. Just wanted to post my feelings about having a potential study where the main unit of measure is owls per square kilometer.

Life is too good.

Cheers!
